TriCoGen

Decentralization as a response to war. And the Czech footprint right in the field.

The war has shown the vulnerability of centralized power plants. Therefore, the future belongs to smaller, flexible sources – not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe.

This is the direction we have been heading in at Enkom for a long time. Instead of a single central source, we are building on the concept of smaller gas-fired power plants that increase grid stability and local energy security. In cooperation with Libor Winkler’s RSJ Investments investment company and Vojtěch Kačena’s Second Foundation technology group, we founded TriCoGen.

It is currently implementing two projects of modular gas-fired power plants based on cogeneration units with a capacity of 10 MW in the central part of Ukraine.

- We will launch the first source in the middle of this year.
- The second is planned for 2027.
- Investments are in the order of millions of euros.

Why is the financing of these projects not a matter of course? And why is the involvement of Czech companies at this stage a strategic decision – not only commercial, but also geopolitical?
